It has Been A Hell of a Ride

Today (April 28) I leave for the OPWU Convention is Columbus. This is my last covention as president and I am concluding my life as an active union officer. I call it "retiring" but in reality I am just not running for relection.
I have been blessed to serve this organization for the last 29+ years. It has been the honor and privilege of my working life and I must thank the membership for this opportunity.
I also need to thank everyone who mentored me, guided me and offered their support. Without friends this would have been a very lonely job.
The thing that amazes me most about the OPWU is the solidarity that exists between all locals - big and small. They realize that standing together makes them stronger. It has also made the Ohio Postal Workers Union the strongest state organization in the APWU.
To those who will lead into the future I offer my unwavering support. Keep up the good fight, never give up and you will always be successful.
From the bottom of my heart - thank you and goodbye.
